Real Madrid will kick off their La Liga title defence with an away match against Real Mallorca on August 18th.
Los Blancos were league and UEFA Champions League winners in 2023/24 and followed that up with a 2-0 win over Atalanta on Wednesday in the UEFA Super Cup. Kylian Mbappe marked his debut with a goal as Madrid laid down the gauntlet to the rest of the continent with an impressive display.
This will be Mbappe's first taste of league football in Spain, with coach Carlo Ancelotti almost certain to start the France forward as he attempts to build on a positive first performance alongside fellow stars Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior.
Yet Madrid were only 1-0 winners when these teams last met in April, and Mallorca will hope to cause their more illustrious opponents a few problems as they attempt to build on a 15th-place finish in the table last term.

It seems unlikely that Ancelotti will tinker too much with the team that started the UEFA Super Cup win over Atalanta. That means the newly nicknamed 'BMV' triumvirate of Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior will likely start. Mbappe, of course, will be making his La Liga debut.
Rodrygo started on the right win against Atalanta and will likely keep his place, although Arda Guler will be pushing to be involved. Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde will anchor the midfield again in the absence of the injured Eduardo Camavinga.
