Shubman Gill Prepares for the 2024 Duleep Trophy: Watch Him Gear Up

New Delhi: Shubhman Gill, India's talented opening batsman, is gearing up for the Duleep Trophy with intensive practice sessions. The vice-captain in white-ball cricket has been honing his skills in the nets to get ready for the upcoming red-ball domestic tournament.

Gill has been announced as skipper of Team A for the Duleep Trophy 2024. The team also includes Riyan Parag, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan and KL Rahul.

Shubman Gill last played for India against Sri Lanka. The two Asian teams fought hard against each other in a three-match T20I series, which was followed by three ODIs.

Gill was named Vice-captain in both formats. He gathered 73 runs in two T20I games where he missed one game due to a neck spasm. The young opener failed make a mark with the bat in the ODI series, amassing just 57 runs in three innings.

Gill will look to score some runs to gain his confidence back ahead of India’s upcoming Test series against Bangladesh which will take place on home soil. The Series opener is set to take place at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chenna from September 19 onwards.

The second and final Test of the series will be played at Green Park in Kanpur from September 27. After the red-ball outings, the two teams will take on each other for a three-match T20I series.

The Indian team will lock horns with New Zealand in three-match Test series at home, starting from October 16, before going to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

India and Australia will play in a five-match Test series. The first Test will take place at Perth Stadium in Perth on Novembr 22. Shibhman Gill’s form with the bat will be a key factor in deciding India’s fate as the they look to qualify for the World Test Championship final for the third time in a row.
