PCB chairman sacrifices INR 94 lakh worth of India vs Pakistan premium tickets; rejects VIP box in Dubai for funding purposes

A recent report from Pakistani media revealed that Naqvi was extended a generous offer for a VIP box in Dubai for himself, his family, and guests to witness the highly-anticipated match between India and Pakistan on February 23. Surprisingly, Naqvi made the unconventional choice to sell the tickets, opting instead to immerse himself in the electrifying atmosphere among the passionate fans in the stands. He expressed a desire to experience firsthand the unwavering support that the Pakistani team receives on match days. Naqvi has officially notified both the ICC and Emirates Cricket Board of his decision to forego the VIP treatment in favor of a more authentic fan experience.

The report added that Naqvi will use the money and other seating receipts from the ICC to upgrade the stadiums in Karachi, Lahore and Pindi.

India to face Pakistan on February 23

Defending champions Pakistan will kick off the 2025 Champions Trophy tournament against New Zealand on Wednesday at the National Stadium in Karachi. India, on the other hand, will take on Bangladesh in their opener on Thursday.
