New Delhi: Sarfaraz Khan's innings came to an end when he was dismissed leg-before by Avesh Khan, who claimed his second wicket on Day 1 of the Duleep Trophy 2024 match between India A and India B at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday, September 5.
Avesh dismissed Sarfaraz on the very first delivery of the 33rd over. Avesh bowled a brilliant delivery that angled in from wide of the crease. Sarfaraz tried to place it to the leg side but missed as the ball hit his pads. The umpire raised his finger in no time. Sarfaraz opted for a review, but ball tracking showed the ball was clipping the stumps, confirming Avesh’s second wicket.

Sarfaraz just scored nine runs off 35 deliveries, with one boundary. His fall left India B at 67-3 after 32.1 overs.
India A won the toss and opted to bowl first. India B openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran built up a decent partnership of 33 runs from 78 deliveries, Easwaran got out on a low score of 13.
Jaiswal looked good but was dismissed by Khaleel Ahmed after scoring 30 off 59 deliveries consisting of six boundaries. Sarfaraz Khan was struggling from the start as he managed to score nine runs off 35 deliveries before falling to Avesh Khan.
Rishabh Pant, who made his return to red-ball cricket, after smashing a boundary off his first ball but got out against Akash Deep on a low score of seven runs.
Both Akash Deep and Avesh Khan clinched two wickets, while Khaleel Ahmed took one for India A.
