Caitlin Clark from the Indiana Fever continues to make history in the WNBA with her incredible performances.

Clark set the WNBA single-season assists record on Friday night when she recorded her 317th of the season in a matchup against the Las Vegas Aces, surpassing the record set last season by Alyssa Thomas of the Connecticut Sun.

With under five minutes to go, Clark bounced an inbounds pass to a charging Kelsey Mitchell, who drove to the hoop and sunk a layup, giving her five assists on the night.

Most assists in a season, WNBA history

322 – Caitlin Clark (38 games in 2024)
316 – Alyssa Thomas (40 games in 2023)
314 – Courtney Vandersloot (39 games in 2023)
300 – Courtney Vandersloot (33 games in 2019)
291 – Chelsea Gray (40 games in 2023)

Clark, who scored all of her 18 points in the second half, finished with eight rebounds and nine assists as Las Vegas held on to beat the Indiana 78-74.

This feat comes a little less than two months after she set the single-game assists record (19) in a loss to the Dallas Wings.

Clark also broke the rookie (Ticha Penicheiro had 225 in 1998) and franchise (Erica Wheeler had 201 in 2023) records earlier this year.
