Tyler Herro has quickly established himself as one of the Miami Heat's top players this season. In the first few weeks of the campaign, Herro has been the team's standout performer, putting up impressive statistics to support his impact on the court. Recently, Herro received the honor of being named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for his outstanding performances in games played between Dec. 2-8. His stellar play was instrumental in the Heat's 3-1 record during that stretch, securing victories over the Phoenix Suns, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Over the course of that week, the six-year veteran averaged an impressive 25.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists, further solidifying his status as a key player for the Heat.
Herro is leading the Heat in several scoring metrics and has established himself as the team’s go-to weapon, ahead of Adebayo and Butler. Herro has been the leading scorer for the Heat in 11 games this season and has 21 games with double-figure scoring. Herro is averaging 24.2 points per contest, shooting 47.8% from the floor and 42.2% percent from three-point range, all of which are career-highs.
He’s made at least one 3-pointer in 56 consecutive regular-season appearances, dating back to the 2023-24 campaign, representing the third-longest streak in franchise history. He also hit multiple 3-point shots in the first 13 games of the season, the longest streak to start a season in team history.
As the reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week and one of the best scoring guards in the NBA this season, the numbers are backing Herro up to be considered a key piece of the franchise.
